Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival...7:00 pm
The Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival is pleased to present the riveting drama "The Testament" at the Brandon Town Hall on Saturday, July 20 at 7:00 pm. "The Testament", directed by first time Israeli filmmaker Amichai Greenberg, is a powerful contemporary thriller that brings audiences into the world of Holocaust deniers and those who seek the truth at any cost. The main character, Yoel, a senior Holocaust researcher, is in the midst of a widely covered legal battle with powerful forces in Austria, concerning a brutal massacre of Jews that took place toward the end of WWII in the village of Lensdorf. An influential family of industrialists, on whose land the murder took place, is planning to build a real estate project on the very same land. Yoel suspects that their aim is to bury what transpired for good, but has trouble finding the conclusive evidence that would stop the project. Conducting a double investigation, both personal and scientific, Yoel is trapped between walls of silence. "The Testament" is a brilliant film with many emotional touchpoints. Tickets for "The Testament" are $12 (cash or check only) and will be available at the Brandon Town Hall the evening of the show. The event is produced with the cooperation and help of the Friends of The Brandon Town Hall
