Mysteries of the Night Sky at the GFL

Past event
Jul 9, 2019, 10 to 11:30 AM

Come to the Greensboro Free Library and take a look at the night sky and constellations with Fairbanks Museum science educator Bobby Farlice-Rubio. He will discuss current astronomy events including black holes, planets and the stars while looking more closely at the moon prepping everyone for July 20 Lunar Celebrations. How does the moon move, and why does it change appearance? The moon is the most easily recognized object in the night sky, as well as the most misunderstood. It changes shape, location and timing, creates eclipses, and is the only other planetary object humans have landed on and explored
