Montpelier's First "Bike Instead of Drive" Day

Jul 14, 2019, 2 to 4 PM

Come help Mayor Anne Watson inaugurate Montpelier's first "Bike Instead of Drive" Day, July 14, 2019, at 2:00 PM.

You can help make history as Mayor Watson co-leads a leisurely paced bike trip along a scenic, almost traffic-free back road from the Montpelier High School parking lot to the Red Hen Cafe in Middlesex.

Round trip: 12 miles. Estimated time including a half hour stop at the Red Hen for refreshments: two hours.

The first ten arrivals will receive a flashing light bike fixture generously donated by Montpelier's own Onion River Outdoor Cycle and Sport Store. Not only that, a bike technician from the store will personally help you install it on your bike!

AND:

While the supply lasts, bananas (well known to cyclists as an energy boosting source of potassium) will be distributed to everyone. You'll even get protein energy bars.

This can be a weekly event if enough people participate. The first trip is recommended for anyone 13 years or older.

So come make history! Questions? merkinron@yahoo.com.
