Sharing on behalf of the Cambridge Fire Department:

We are hosting a bone marrow drive for Alex Blair, a 18 year old fighting leukemia. Alex was diagnosed October 4th, 2018. Before then, Alex was a busy typical teenager, who enjoyed everything, even a little fire fighting. She is surrounded by those who love and care for her as she fights this battle to beat leukemia. In February Alex was cleared to go home from the hospital and continue to be the busy teenager she is. She played sports, she hung out with friends, and even went to the prom with her longtime boyfriend. However, before graduation on June 6th, Alex was told she had relapsed and would now need a bone marrow donor. Alex was able to graduate from high school before being admitted later that day to continue treatment. This time Alex will have to depend on the selfless gift of someone that she does not know, but is a close genetic match to her, to help Alex have the opportunity to live life to its fullest.

This why we need you, to help Alex, and possibly many like her. Pleas join us on July 6th from 11-3 at the Cambridge fire department to impact a life like Alex's.

Donor requirements are you are 18-44 years old*. It is a cheek swab, nothing else. If you are unable to donate, please come join us and purchase some "Blair Wear" to support Alex.
*(People between the ages of 44-60 can still register to be donors by paying a fee. Please visit https://bethematch.org/)

We will have a dropbox for donations and well wishes for Alex as she will be heading to Boston children's in the near Future. .
Thank You
