July 4th is the 37th Annual Clarence DeMar 5k at the Folsom School. Join the Green Mountain Athletic Association for a flat, fast and fun 5k- the race starts at 8:30am. It's a great event for families. There is a free 1/4 mile kids race at 8:15am starting near the Folsom School playground. All racers will enjoy watermelon and Ben and Jerry's. Prizes include homemade strawberry jam and raffle prizes from great local businesses. $25 to pre-register (online by July 2 at noon) or $30 race day.
The race benefits the South Hero Rescue.

Road Closure Information - South Street will be closed on race day from 8:30 to 9:00 am. This may be significant to those that need access to or from the streets off South Street south of Whipple Rd/ West Shore Rd. Please share this info with friends and neighbors - we don't want anyone to be surprised on race morning - please help us spread the word.
