The Science to Action Project has two exciting free community events coming up in September.
On Saturday, September 14, from 10 a.m. - noon, bring your kids to Mills Riverside Park for a nature walk. Vermont Fish and Wildlife biologist Jens Hilke will cover local plant identification, forest and river ecology and more! Open to kids of all ages (with an adult). Meet at the park pavilion.
On Saturday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to noon, you will have the chance to explore a rarely seen and unique area. Science to Action will host a naturalist-guided walk through the dense forest, rich wildlife habitat and signs of early settlers near where the borders of Bolton, Richmond and Jericho intersect.
The walk will start and end at the marked VAST trail on Stage Road in Bolton, three miles from Rt. 2. Please wear footgear to handle rough and wet terrain, plus bring water and bug spray. Parking is limited, so please car-pool if you can. More information can be found at ccrpcvt.org/science-to-action or by emailing rebeccagorney.vt@gmail.com.
