Dance Away June with the Montpelier Contra Dance!

Past event
Jun 29, 2019, 7:45 to 11 PM

June 29th, the last Saturday of the month, brings Adina Gordon to the Capital City Grange to call great dances, and the Long Pond Rounders to play dancin' tunes.

Adina will be leading the "newcomers" session at about 7:45 PM, and will teach and call fun, social dances for everyone from 8:00 to 11:00. If you are new to this type of dancing, or would like a refresher on the basics, come on over for the intro session.

We are lucky to have Adina as a regular caller at our dances; she says "when it comes to dance,if you're smiling and laughing, you're doing it right!" It's easy to have fun with her teaching and calling, and the hot music of the Rounders. They're a five piece band that includes fiddle, sax, guitar, mandolin, piano, flute and percussion in their tunes. Come and enjoy dancing to their eclectic music!

Tips for dancers: bring clean shoes for dancing on "one of the best dance floors in New England", or clean them up with our tools. Wear light, comfortable clothing. Bring a water bottle, or keep hydrated with our water fountains. Come by yourself and find dance partners in our friendly group, and bring your friends!

Capital City Grange Hall is at 6612 Rt. 12/Northfield St., just south of the I-89 overpass, 1 mile south of Montpelier. Admission—basic price is $10 for adults, but $5 for kids & low-income.
