City Council Meeting Agenda (and stuff)

Past event

Hi everyone! Wasn't this past weekend just delicious? Such a gift from Mother Nature! On Saturday, my husband and I went with our besties to the Mountaineers game. When I was a kid in the Bronx, I was a fairweather, bandwagon-hopping Yankees fan. However, I'm just not that into it anymore. The real drive in getting me to a game these days is that I enjoy people-watching and I like seeing my baseball-loving husband in his glory. That being said, neighbz, I am so glad that we went to Saturday's game. First of all, our Mountaineers won 11-1. WOOHOO! Second, I am not speaking in hyperbole when I say I was nearly brought to tears seeing so many people from our community joined together in celebration and support. I saw people I know from all different walks of life at that stadium: artists, farmers, cyclists, builders, musicians, business owners, families, folks who have been on this planet for a while, those not even walking yet, and those with four legs! This surprised me and made me realize two things: 1) While I like to believe I don't do this, I'm clearly not immune to the very human thing of putting people in boxes. In this case, assuming someone isn't a "baseball person." I mean, what is that?!? (Trust me, I'm working on unpacking it); and 2) Montpelier is an awesome place. We're not perfect. We've got stuff to work on. We may need some therapy. But, we're awesome. We care about this place. Sigh. I'm happy to be here. On that note, we have a City Council meeting tomorrow. Please come! Check out the agenda below.
