The Isle La Motte Historical Society summer season opens on June 29 from 1 to 4 pm. In collaboration with the Abenaki Nation of Missisquoi – St. Francis /Sokoki Band the Society will exhibit Abenaki cultural objects past and present in our Francis Ford Slab-log Cabin. Carollee Reynolds, a creator of Abenaki Regalia, and Richard Menard, an Abenaki carver, will be present to answer questions about their art work. Carollee will also conduct a smudge ceremony for the exhibit at 1:30 pm. In addition we have new exhibits in the Stone Schoolhouse featuring photos of Isle La Motte WWII heros and archival photos of school life over the decades. The exhibits and refreshments are free. We are located at the corner of Main St. and Quarry Rd about 6 miles from the Isle La Motte Bridge.
