Kickoff summer reading and "A Universe of Stories" at the Greensboro Free Library!
Join us on Tuesday July 2nd at 10am to celebrate Space travel and Independence Day with Rocket Building and Launching. Stew Arnold is a rocket enthusiast and will lead the group in the fun and excitement of building and launching their own single stage rockets with parachute recovery from Estes Model Rocketry. Stew will discuss and display different types of rockets and rocket launching safety as well. We will build rockets at the library from 10am-11:45am, eat lunch, and then launch the rockets from 1pm-2:30pm. Parent/adult supervision and participation is encouraged for the launching portion of the day. All are welcome to watch the rocket launching. Please PRE-REGISTER for this workshop for youth ages 8+ at greensborokids@gmail.com or by calling the library at 533.2531. There is a $10 materials fee which can be given to Emily on the day of the class. Please bring your lunch.
