Fred Magdoff will be speaking on:

Creating an Ecological Society: Climate Change, Capitalism, and Socialism
based on his recent book, Creating an Ecological Society: Toward a Revolutionary Transformation (with Chris Williams)

This will be a presentation and then an open discussion.

Wednesday, June 26th 6:00 p.m.
Fletcher Free Library
235 College Street, Burlington

Our climate emergency has ignited global protest and organizing for a future that eliminates emissions of greenhouse gases. This raises urgent questions. What would a just and ecologically sustainable society look like? And if the current economic system can't adequately respond to this need, what are the strategies to advance our struggle?

On a local level, what actions and plans should be pursued?

Discussion will also highlight the world-wide Climate Strike this coming September 20, which will include Burlington.
