On June 25th-29th, the Smugglers' Notch Disc Golf Center is hosting the Masters World Disc Golf Championship! We hosted the Open (all ages) World Championship last September and this year it's the Masters (Ages 40+) turn! There are 175 competitors from over 30 different states and 10 different countries competing next week!
We are rallying to get a few more volunteers to help with spotting during the competition. To be a spotter, you work in 3 hours shifts stationed on a disc golf hole helping to "spot" where the competitors throws go. It's simple and fun work, and needs very brief training.
Volunteer perks include daily lunch and great piece of event merchandise (a shirt, discs, water bottle, and more) for each shift you work, as well as 25% off in the Smugglers' Pro Shop & Outdoor Center on the days you volunteer. On top of that, we are inviting all volunteers to the World Championship opening ceremonies to enjoy a free banquet dinner at the Meeting House on Monday, June 24th from 6:00-8:00 PM. Volunteers will also get free entry to our Wednesday evening event, "Fiddlehead's Summer Celebration", which includes live music, snacks, and craft beer tastings in the Smuggs Meeting House from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
Each day, volunteers meet briefly with the Volunteer Coordinator when they arrive to gear up and head out on the course! We still have need for both morning and afternoon shifts, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Folks that can offer a full day get relived around lunchtime before heading back out for the afternoon!
All shifts are on a first-come-first-serve basis, and if you can commit to a shift, or multiple days, please let us know as soon as possible.
Please email discgolf@smuggs.com or call us at the pro shop, 802-644-2477 to reserve your volunteer slot as soon as possible!
