The John G. McCullough Free Library, The Left Bank, The Shirley Jackson Awards Committee and The Bennington Bookshop are pleased to present this year's Shirley Jackson Day Celebration this Saturday, June 22nd at The Left Bank (5 Bank Street) in North Bennington. Join your neighbors and friends as we celebrate the career and work of nationally renowned local author Shirley Jackson.
An artists' reception for The Bird's Nest: A Portrait Show, which finds curatorial inspiration from Jackson's 1954 novel, The Bird's Nest, will take place in The Left Bank from 4-6PM.
At 7:00, a celebratory reading of Jackson's work will be given by her children Jai Holly and Barry Hyman, and two authors associated with the Shirley Jackson Awards: F. Brett Cox and Bracken MacLeod.
This event is free, open to the public and the venue is accessible to individuals with mobility challenges.
Refreshments will be available.
