Performed on the Summer Solstice, this Abenaki tradition is where participants take tobacco leaves and breathe or sing their good wishes into them for the coming year, the tobacco is burned and then an arrow is lit from the flame. The flaming arrow is then shot towards the Sun to carry those good wishes to the sky. Join us as members of Alnôbaiwi perform this ceremony. Out of respect for the traditional beliefs of the Abenakis, no photography of the ceremony is permitted.
