FOLA will present a screening of a live edition of the 1970 musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" in the Heald Auditorium at the Ludlow Town Hall on Saturday June 22 at 7pm.
"Jesus Christ Superstar" started out as a concept album in 1970 then became a musical sensation in 1970 and then a movie musical hit in 1973. It is a rock opera that looks at the life of Jesus Christ from a psychological perspective with the plot focused on Judas and his questioning of Jesus' direction. The music was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice. It has been presented on Broadway four times.
"Jesus Christ Superstar" is open to everyone and is free (donations are appreciated). It will start at 7pm on Saturday June 22 in the Heald Auditorium (upstairs at the Ludlow Town Hall). The movie runs one hour and thirty nine minutes and it is rated PG. Berkshire Bank will provide the popcorn with FOLA supplying water.
