Swaps run from 10 AM until 2 PM and include more than just chickens. You can often find ducks, rabbits, guinea hens, peafowl, lambs, pigeons, supplies, and much more. There is a $10 nonmember selling fee and a $5 member selling fee. Looking is free! These swaps are all run in partnership with the State of VT Dept of AG and all birds over 20 weeks of age, with the exception of waterfowl, will need to be tested. The state will be there to test the day of the swap but it is asked that if you have more than 15 bird please reach out to them for an on-farm test prior to the swap. If you are selling birds please make sure you have adequate cages, food, and water. If you are buying please make sure to bring proper transport cages. We ask that no birds are left in unattended vehicles. Please leave Fido at home as some of these birds have never seen dogs before and can be very skittish. The sales are open to all small livestock such as goats, sheep, calves, rabbits and all others. Please note that they must meet all VTDAG standards to be sold. All sickly animals will be asked to leave the grounds. Anyone selling from out of state MUST HAVE THE PROPER PAPERWORK to cross state lines or you will be asked to leave, no exceptions.
