Parkinson's Support Group meeting in St Albans

The April 8th free presentation will be conducted by Dawn Boudreau who will discuss Therapeutic Massage for Parkinson's patients. There will be a $10 fee for those wishing a shoulder massage. This will be conducted at the Northwestern Medical Center.

The May meeting will be held on the 13th at Duke’s Fitness Center on 18 Swanton Road . Nate Yandow, personal trainer and Nutritionist will present “Weight Training for those with Parkinson's”. There is no charge for this meeting.

A newly formed Parkinson’s Support Group meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month. The majority of the meetings are held at the Northwestern Medical Center (St. Albans) in the conference rooms. The meetings are scheduled from 10-11:30. Ann Gorrigan of the American Parkinson Disease Association meets regularly with the group.

The group is open to those with the disease, their caregivers, family and loved ones. The monthly meetings can provide an open forum to share experiences with others who are coping with the illness, education, support and recommendations for dealing with the day to day. Participants can learn from each other, meet new people, have discussions, and listen to presentations.
