It's been 2 years and Helen Day Art Center is excited to be participating this year in the Stowe 4th of July Parade! If you would like to be a part of the HDAC float, please sign up for their workshop to create art with a theme that will highlight talented artists of all ages. This year, we are offering a workshop to decorate umbrellas; perfect if it's sunny or wet on the 4th! There will be DIY umbrellas and an amazing amount of materials to make them as elaborate or as elegant as you can create! The workshop will be held Saturday, June 29th from 10:00am-1:00pm at the Art Center (located above the Stowe Free Library) and is $5 per umbrella maker. There will also be an opportunity to decorate boards for the sides of the float!

This workshop is for anyone who wants to commit to be a part of the parade, and is for all ages. We will have walkers next to the float and younger artists in the float who can't walk the whole parade. Due to the size of the float, we can have about about 10 float riders and 10 walkers. If you would like your young artist to participate but can't participate yourself, staff will be by the float to guide them!
