See you later (we won't say goodbye), Amber!

Come wish Amber Johns, the Varnum's Youth Services Librarian for the past three years, happy travels as she moves to central Massachusetts. The Varnum is hosting a party on June 15, 3:30-5pm for the community to come and wish her well. Sweets and snacks will be provided.

Amber will be the Director of the Petersham Memorial Library. Cari Varner will be serving as the Interim Youth Services Librarian.

As Youth Services Librarian for the Varnum, Amber was instrumental in growing our juvenile and young adult collections. Under her leadership, the library expanded our programming for children and young adults including Harry Potter and Percy Jackson Book Clubs, started Baby Got Books! a storytime for little ones, Magic! The Gathering and game nights. She worked closely with Director Christy Liddy on events for adults as well, such as the deliciously successful Cook A Book bookclub and was the bedrock of the Crafters Circle on Thursday evenings.

The Varnum will miss her terribly and we hope that you can join us for an event in her honor.
