Help Protect the Lake and Walk Away With Free Trees!

Join us on Saturday, June 15th at 10:30 am for a fun morning planting trees at the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge in Swanton. We'll be demonstrating proper planting techniques, discussing how natural landscaping can improve water quality, and giving away free bare-root trees and shrubs. All tree planting volunteers will receive a free Lake Champlain Land Trust t-shirt!

After the tree planting, all are welcome to enjoy the scenic trails and waters of the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR). The Refuge features five kid-friendly trails with excellent birdwatching opportunities. You can also bring your kayak or canoe and explore the tranquil Missisquoi River. For more information, visit the MNWR website.

This event is part of the Lake Champlain Land Trust's "It Takes a Watershed" project, an innovative watershed-scale approach to making water quality improvements that leverages the skills and dedication of local citizens to restore our waterways. The project is made possible with generous support from Patagonia.
