Sugarbush Soaring 3rd Annual Youth Airport Day

Sugarbush Soaring, Vermont's premier soaring/glider-plan club, is offering its third annual Youth Airport Day at the Warren Sugarbush Airport in Warren, VT. If you are (or someone you know is) 10-18 years old and interested in aviation, this is a great opportunity to learn about flying. The first twenty youth who apply will receive a FREE glider lesson. This event is being funded by Flight Experience for Youth (FEFY) and the Mad River Valley Rotary Club.
The 2019 Youth Airport Day will be on Saturday June 22. The rain date is Sunday June 23.
The event, from 9am to 3pm, includes:
• An introductory ground school on how airplanes/gliders fly
• A free 20-minute glider lesson with an FAA certified flight instructor, in the skies next to Sugarbush ski area
• Ground tours of multiple airplanes and gliders, and the airport
• A free lunch (cook-out style)
• A talk on aviation careers.
You can also meet youth who have learned to fly through the club's youth program.
Restrictions: • Our minimum age is 10 years old providing the participant is big enough to be safely secured by the seat belts and is mature and capable of following instructions from the pilot. • The maximum age is 18. • Our maximum passenger weight is 242 lbs.
This event is intended for youth in our local area. Space is limited and the twenty slots will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. After you submit the application, we will email you a permission form, which will need to be filled out and signed by a parent before your application is considered complete.
