Race Conversations at the Library

Past event
Jun 18, 2019, 6:30 to 7:30 PM

Mark your calendars for our next Race Conversation at the library. All members of the community are invited to the SAL room of the Waterbury Library on Tuesday evening June 18th from 6:30-7:30. What is the concept of race? How did we come to categorize people into subsets? What is racism? What is its impact? These are just some of the questions we may talk about. The book by Ijeoma Oluo, "So you want to talk about race?" serves as the text for discussion. The group will be going through a chapter of the book for each gathering. Participants can order a copy of Oluo's book through the library's Inter-Library loan. Ask at the Help Desk. Bridgeside Books will be offering a 15% discount for the book if folks want to purchase their own. Hope to see you at our next gathering.
