The cleaning is done and the doors have swung open – Brookfield's Old Town Hall welcomes everyone to join in another fun and fact filled season of weekly community events!

Check out our calendar of events, contact us to be added to our email list (brookfieldoth@gmail.com) and watch our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/brookfieldoldtownhall/) for updates and information!

Our community events are made possible by the generous donations from various area businesses, led once again by The Frankenburg Agency of Randolph, and this year, through a special grant from the Lamson Howell Foundation, along with a dozen area businesses.

We kick off the 2019 season on Saturday June 8th beginning at 6 pm, with our traditional community pot luck dinner and entertainment from the Arts Bus for the kiddos. Bring your favorite dish to share, along with your own place settings and utensils, reconnect with neighbors and friends, pick up our events postcard and plan to join us throughout the season.

Also, the Arts Bus is collecting old or blank CDs/DVDs for their 4th of July float – dig through that dusty collection and bring a stack to donate!

On Monday, June 10th at 7 pm, join us for a Vermont state legislative update with our area Senator and Representatives. Stay in touch with the decisions made in Montpelier and how they affect us.

Wednesday, June 12th, we have a delicious new event – a Chocolate Tasting with Nutty Steph's and Liberty Chocolatiers. This event requires RSVP to Marda Donner (mardadonner@hotmail.com or 276-3808) and costs $10/adult (kids under 18 are free!)

Our popular Tuesday evenings yoga classes with Deonne Myrick resume on June 18th 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Bring your mat and water bottle and enjoy this all-levels/all-ages group practice. Many stay for a swim in Sunset Lake after class! Yoga classes are $5/adult with children under 18 invited to join in for free. Our yoga series is generously sponsored by R E Tucker.

On Thursday, June 20th at 6 pm, we have a special screening of a new documentary film "One Town at a Time," the story of Woodstock native Michael Leonard's journey completing his 251 Club visits to every Vermont village and town! "One Town at a Time" is a coming-of-age story that is firmly rooted in the community spirit that makes Vermont's towns so special, and includes diverse voices from across the state such as Former Governor Jim Douglas and Ben & Jerry's co-founder, Jerry Greenfield. You will hear from 251 Club members of all kinds and, after listening to their stories of traveling through Vermont, you'll want to start exploring as well. Film Director Michael Leonard will introduce the film and hold a Q&A session at the end.

Monday and Thursday mornings, beginning on June 24th 7:30-8:30 am, we offer Morning Strengthen and Tone exercise classes led by personal trainers Emma Manion and Shannon Kelly. Come rise and shine and get fit with your neighbors! These classes are generously sponsored by The Clark Group and Brookfielder Nancy McCall.

Our final event in June is a Families Square Dance on Saturday June 29th, with the Zac Johnson Band and caller Jennifer Johnson. The Johnsons are a Brookfield family we are delighted to welcome back to the Old Town Hall for a traditional square dance, held for decades in this community space.

Stay tuned for more event updates and see you at the Old Town Hall!
