Community Journey to West Africa Through Drumming

Past event
Jun 8, 2019, 1:30 to 2:30 PM

Please join us at the Clemmons Family Farm this Saturday, June 8 for a community-building drumming circle to learn, celebrate and commune around West African art and culture. Master Teaching Artist Ismael Bangoura will engage participants with the rhythms, patterns, and sequences of West African drumming. In the drumming circle, you will learn cultural songs and will be enveloped in the echo of the djembe and the doundoun. Community drumming is on Saturday, June 8, 2019; 1:30-2:30 PM and again on Saturday, July 13, 2019; 1:30 PM-2:30 PM. We'll have some drums to loan for the early arrivals-- everyone else, please bring a drum on something else to tap a beat on!

Registration is required. Learn more at: http://bit.ly/CFFDanceandDrum
