Vermont vs Hollywood: a Talk About Our State in Movies

Past event
Jun 7, 2019, 7 to 8:30 PM

The Reading Historical Society and the Vermont Humanities Council present "Vermont vs. Hollywood: 100 Years of Vermont in Film." The talk will be given by Amanda Gustin.

Vermont has been a featured location in Hollywood movies for nearly a century. It has represented many different ideals during that time, and its portrayal reflects both Vermont's own history as well as American history. Examining those films provides interesting and fun insights into the hold Vermont has had on imagination in the media age.

The talk happens on June 7, at 7pm, at the Reading Historical Society Museum located at 670 Route 106. Admission is free, and open to everyone.
