The forecast for this week’s farmers’ market hours looks good again -- not too hot, not too cold, and not too wet -- it’ll be a perfect time to come visit with your friends and neighbors and support your local farmers and artisans. Joanna May of Richmond’s Music Together will be sharing instruments and welcoming kids and grownups to make music together on the stage from 4pm to 5pm.
Sweet corn is here! Still At It farm’s sweet corn is some of the best around, so don’t miss it. We’ll have blueberries, cucumbers, eggplant, many varieties of tomatoes (including heirloom ones), wild mushrooms and other wild edibles, lettuce, garlic & garlic braids, fennel, basil, beets, new potatoes, mesclun mix, fresh pickles, cabbage, carrots, kale, chard, scallions, shallots, onions, and more. The Last Resort farm is offering a 2-for-1 special on cukes.
In addition to veggies, you can fill your grocery bags with: beef, pork, chicken (whole and parts), eggs, honey, maple syrup, maple candies, chocolate, kimchi, bread and pastries (including Katie’s blueberry, strawberry, and apple pies).
Dining options: Kyong’s (Asian), Kadric’s (Eastern European), and Maple Wind Farm (grilled grass-fed meats from their farm); fresh squeezed lemonade and delicious iced teas. For dessert, there’ll be Sweet Simone’s gorgeous baked goods, Good Companion Bakery’s scrumptious pastries, and the maple fudge and candies of Vermont Maple Products.
