Great music, calling and dancing have been happening at the Capital City Grange Hall since 1983, according to our sources. Join us on Saturday, June 1st, for the next fun dance.
Will Mentor, a Vermont-based caller who travels around the country for contra dance festivals, will be leading the "newcomers" session at about 7:45 PM, and from 8:00 to 11:00 will call fun, social dances for everyone f. If you are new to this type of dancing, or would like a refresher on the basics, come on over for the intro session.
Stomp Rocket will get your feet off the floor with "beaucoup de stomp"! Dave Langford playing fiddle, Glen Loper on mandolin and Bethany Waickman with guitar will keep the tunes 'n' dance rhythms going.
Tips for dancers: bring clean shoes for dancing on "one of the best dance floors in New England", or clean your shoes up with our tools. Wear light, comfortable clothing. Bring a water bottle, or keep hydrated with our water fountains.
