Shooting Sports Open House for Juniors

The Waterbury Stowe Fish and Game Club is hosting an Open House Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 3 PM to 5 PM.

The purpose of the event is to introduce youngsters to the principles of shooting rimfire rifles, small bore shotguns, and archery equipment in a safe and controlled environment. Club members will provide safety instruction, coaching, and overwhelming supervision.

This event is open to the public and all are welcome. A parent or guardian must be present. A junior is roughly defined as male or female, age 10 and up with an interest in or curiousity about shooting sports. Younger children can also participate, but rifles and shotguns may be cumbersome.

Here's what to expect:

Rifle Range will be open to Juniors with supervision and coaching. .22 Rifles and ammunition, along with supervision and coaching, will be provided by the Club. Instruction on firearms safety will precede shooting on the range.

Skeet Field will be open to Juniors with supervision and coaching. 20 gauge shotguns and shells, along with supervision and coaching, will be provided by the Club. Instruction on firearms safety will precede shooting on the Skeet Field.

Archery Field will also be open for Juniors with supervision and coaching. All equipment will be provided by the Club.

After the Event, a hotdog cookout will be provided by the Club to all Juniors present.
