Rachel Lindsay to Speak at MCL

Manchester Community Library, United Counseling Service and Northshire Bookstore present Burlington, Vermont-based cartoonist Rachel Lindsay, who will discuss her personal journey with bipolar illness, the treatment of mental illness, the role of art and expression in the healing process, and the often unavoidable choice between sanity and happiness.

Rachel Lindsay is the author of RX: A Graphic Memoir (2018, Grand Central Publishing), about her experience working in psychopharmaceutical advertising and subsequent hospitalization for bipolar mania. The book has received acclaim from Kirkus Reviews, Publisher's Weekly, and New York Magazine, among others.

The event is free and open to the public. Copies of RX will available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds donated to UCS by Northshire Bookstore.

The event will be held at Manchester Community Library, 138 Cemetery Ave/Route 7A, Manchester Center, VT.
