Your Community Senior Center presents YOGA for Every-Body! with Lynn Clauer. A new series begins this Tuesday, May 28 2-3:15pm, Richmond Free Library. Bring the best of yoga to your unique body! So what is different about this yoga? We will work with poses that provide support options. Our standing and balance work are traditional and also include a chair in front of you, allowing you to choose support or simply to deepen your pose knowing support is within reach. Our seated yoga will utilize a chair to eliminate floor transitions and create a stable base focusing on the essential components of each pose. We will use seated techniques that participants have described as bringing them greater awareness and strengthening of their core. This is yoga – you will be: connecting breath to movement and held poses; strengthening, lengthening, and building your balance and your bones; as well as bringing awareness, centering, and vitality to your body which reduces stress and increases self confidence. Our poses for opening our practice (breath work) and closing our practice (resting pose) may offer restorative supine floor options if desired (such as resting on your back, knees bent and legs supported on a chair). This yoga practice is great for people looking to minimize impact to their knees and wrists, office workers who don't always have a mat, or even for those looking to incorporate a recovery protocol they are following for an injury or surgery. Beginners or those with yoga experience are welcome. This five week session begins on May 28th and runs through June 25th. The full series is $40, drop-ins are $10. Minimum of 5 people in the series for it to run (email martha3@gmavt.net to get on the list) Note - If we sign up 8 or more for the series there will be a reduction to $36 for the series and $8 for drop-ins.
