The Initiators of the Vermont Non-Partisan League are pleased to announce we are ready for your participation. We plan a conference call ongoing on Monday nights and two public meetings nearby the first week of June, the first at the Putney Library at 7 pm on Tuesday, June 4th, and the second on Wednesday, June 5 at the Brattleboro Coop at 7 pm. You can see the schedule on our website www.vermontnonpartisanleague.org,
What is the VNP League and why do we believe it's needed now? The League's mission is to develop trust between, the courage of, and authority of Vermonters to design a future that responds to crises of our times in the most honorable, peaceable, deliberate and expedient way.
We believe that political will and wisdom exists in abundance across the state, currently organized in nonprofit, faith and activist groups that are alone unable to make systematic alterations to the political system. The League is not a political party now, yet, if and when trust, momentum, and excitement grow strong enough statewide to achieve the changes we decide to bring to fruition, at that point, we will cross the bridge to become one.
For now, we invite young and old people, and representatives from the many nonprofit urgent action groups and activist groups, who yearn for a future that current political structures are not taking us to, to come to develop strong interpersonal relationships enabling Vermont to enact nonviolent systematic transformation.
