The Addison County Solid Waste Management District is hosting a FREE household hazardous waste collection event.
When: Saturday, June 1st, 8 am - Noon
Where: Starksboro Town Garage, 3904 VT Route 116
Who: Residents of Starksboro, Monkton and Lincoln are invited. Household hazardous waste only, no business waste please!
What: Household hazardous waste includes any unused product that is poisonous, reactive, corrosive or flammable. Look for keywords on the label such as "Warning!" "Danger!" "Poison!" and "Caution!" Common items include pesticides, gasoline, motor oil, paint products, cleaning products, automotive chemicals, pool chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs and batteries. Motor oil will be limited to 10 gallons per household.
Why: Improper disposal of these products poses a risk to human health and the environment.
