The Barnet Public Library is excited to welcome Yvonne Daley, author of Going Up The Country as our Humanities Speaker. Yvonne will speak on the migration of folks in the 1960's and '70's from this country's cities and suburbs to the small towns of Vermont. This introduction of free thinkers, farmers and radicals not only changed Vermont's cultural, political and economic landscape but Vermont imprinted itself on them as well. This coming together greatly influenced the our state today.
Due to an expected larger crowd, we will be holding this event in the old Barnet Town Hall right across from the library (147 Church St., Barnet, VT). All welcome to join us for a pre-talk potluck at 5:30 pm in the Congregational Church just down the street.
