Come learn some strategies for promoting their establishment and providing protection at the Morristown Community Garden (at the Morrisville Oxbow) at 9:30 AM on Saturday May 25. The workshop will be led by Master Composter/Master Gardener Denise Greene and Lamoille County Forester Rick Dyer. Topics to be covered include
• Pollinator strips/rows in gardens
• Habitat hedges on lawns and fields
• Pollinator meadows to replace lawn
• Wildflowers and natives
• Seed mixes or Plant starts
• Preparation with a solarizing demonstration, sheet mulch and other options
• Pesticide avoidance
• Trees and shrubs for pollinators.
