Did you know that beneficial insects help pollination and pest management in your landscape? Did you know that their populations are stressed in Vermont? Come learn some strategies for promoting their establishment and providing protection at the Morristown Community Garden (at the Morrisville Oxbow) at 9:30 AM on Saturday May 25. The workshop will be led by Master Composter/Master Gardener Denise Greene and Lamoille County Forester Rick Dyer. Topics to be covered include

• Pollinator strips/rows in gardens
• Habitat hedges on lawns and fields
• Pollinator meadows to replace lawn
• Wildflowers and natives
• Seed mixes or Plant starts
• Preparation with a solarizing demonstration, sheet mulch and other options
• Pesticide avoidance
• Trees and shrubs for pollinators.
