Explore new career opportunities! Create a different gap year! Vermont Registered Apprenticeships are employer-sponsored training programs that includes both supervised work experience and related instruction. There are nearly 700 active apprentices in Vermont in over 25 different occupations including Plumber, Electrician, Medical Coder, Phlebotomist, HVAC Technician, EMT, Diesel Mechanic, Stone Mason and more. Participating employers sponsor individuals as apprentices setting a progressive wage scale and agreeing to provide supervised on the job training. Relevant instruction in apprenticeships are delivered in a variety of formats, including classes at Vermont Technical College or classes offered at various training centers depending on occupation. Allison Richards from the Vermont Department of Labor will describe how the programs work, how one can become an apprentice in an existing program and how new apprentice programs can be developed. Wednesday, May 22, 6:30 pm. Richmond Free Library, 201 Bridge Street, Richmond. 434-3036, rfl@gmavt.net.
