LT. GOVERNOR, DAVID ZUCKERMAN TO SPEAK IN STOWE, TUESDAY, JUNE 11
The Stowe Democrats invite the public to a conversation with Vermont's Lieutenant Governor, David Zuckerman, on Tuesday, June 11, 8 pm at the Akeley Building (Stowe Town Hall).
Lt. Governor, David Zuckerman will present his views on an economy that works for all. He has been traveling throughout Vermont this Spring to learn what citizens' concerns are as well as their ideas about solutions to current problems like health care, taxes, the minimum wage, affordable housing, environmental sustainability and transportation issues.
Zuckerman will also report on the Legislatures' accomplishments this year, and describe what issues have been postponed until next year. David will respond to any questions the public may have.
As a member of the UVM class of 1995, David Zukerman began his political career working for Bernie Sanders' first campaign for Mayor of Burlington. For those efforts, he was awarded the Keith Miser Award for contribution to campus leadership. He went on to serve in the VT House of Representatives from 1997-2010. In 2010-2016, David was elected as a Progressive/Democrat to the VT. State Senate. In 2016, he was elected Lt. Governor of VT.
His leadership has been recognized by numerous organizations from the VT Businesses for Social Responsibility which in 2014 named him legislator of the year to the Renewable Energy VT organization that named him the Legislative Champion in 2013.
In January of this year, David was named the Regional Leader of the Nation's Lieutenant Governors Association. An organic farmer, he lives with his wife, Rachel and daughter, in Hinesburg, VT
The Stowe Democrats meet monthly to discuss current local and national issues and occasionally present programs of interest to the general public. All are welcome at 8 pm.
