No matter the weather, all are invited to a festive celebration of the Birth of the Buddha at Shao Shan Temple in Woodbury. The celebration will begin with a procession through the woods accompanied by the ringing of bells, drumming, blowing conch shells, carrying parasols, and chanting. Then everyone will move indoors to ladle sweet tea over a statue of the baby Buddha and listen to the magical story of the Buddha's birth. Refreshments follow. This is a family-friendly celebration and children are welcome. Please dress for the weather and bring an umbrella, if it's raining.
