Past event
May 20, 2019, 7 to 10 PM

Dear Neighbors,

This coming Monday, the City Council will hold its second of two meetings for the month of May. We will begin our meeting at 7pm.

We will begin our meeting with a report on a study that the Council created by resolution that was charged with reviewing and making recommendations regarding the long-term provision of senior services that reflect the City's commitment to meeting the needs of an aging population in a cost-effective way and with reviewing and making recommendations regarding the long-term financial sustainability of the Heineberg Community Senior Center that reflect the City's commitment to meeting the needs of an aging population in a cost-effective way. This study was done in collaboration with many community partners, including United Way, Homeshare, AARP, Heineberg Community Senior Center and Burlington Parks and Recreation and Waterfront.

Following votes on two outdoor entertainment permits, there are two items on our deliberative agenda:

• We will have a communication from the Department of PublicWorks on the generational investment the City is making in sustainable infrastructure.

• We will be voting on a resolution regarding energy efficiency in rental housing. The resolution asks for a report on Minimum Rental Housing Energy Efficiency Standards Ordinance and asks what changes would be advisable or needed to improve and strengthen the ordinance. The report would also include information on energy efficiency programs that BED and Vermont Gas manages.

Please keep in mind that you are always welcome to come to a Council meeting and speak on any topic you wish during public forum. This begins at a time certain of 7:30pm at every Council meeting. You may access the Council agenda at http://www.boarddocs.com/vt/burlingtonvt/Board.nsf/Public Please note that all Council meetings are televised live on BT Channel 317 and streamed live to your computer or phone. My best,
Karen
