In conjunction with Vermont Cares, the Williston Fire Department is hosting the first annual Needle Take Back Day from 10:00-12:00 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2019. This is a great opportunity to safely dispose of your used, unused or expired syringes and lancets. The syringes will be properly packaged, and disposed of safely.

Loose syringes thrown into household trash can cause accidental needle sticks, potentially causing infections or spreading disease. Sharps that end up in recycling bins can injure trash haulers and recycling workers. Wildlife, pets and children can be hurt too.

Medications will not be accepted during this take back day, but can always be disposed of in the bin in the lobby of the Williston Police Station.
