On Thursday, May 16th at 6:00 PM, Join Windham County Forester Sam Schneski who will be introducing the Vermont Backyard Woods Program, which is a six-week online course that will start in Fall 2019, and developed by the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation and the University of Vermont Extension.

This course uses a combination of videos, webinars, and weekly activities to guide you in the exploration of your backyard woods. The target audience for this is the 2-20 acre woodland owner.

He will also touch on the Use Value Appraisal (UVA) program and a broad view of forest management. Landowners need to have a minimum of 25 acres of woodland to enroll in UVA.

The workshop will be held at the Moore Free Library, 23 West Street, Newfane and is free and open to the public.
