The Burlington International Airport will be hosting two open house events regarding the updated CFR Part 150 Noise Exposure Map (NEM):

The Noise Exposure Map documents the airport layout and operation, aircraft related noise exposure and land uses surrounding the airport. This update will look at aircraft noise exposure for the years 2018 and 2023 including data from the F-35s. The current FAA approved 2015 NEM represent calendar years 2015 and 2020 conditions. Noise Exposure Maps present current and future (5 years) aircraft noise contours and land use. This is an open house format with boards describing the study progress and the draft NEMs. No formal presentation will be made. Both verbal and written comments will be accepted. In addition, written comments can be submitted to www.BTVsound.com.

Copies of the Noise Exposure Maps will be available beginning May 29th at the Airport Administrative offices during normal business hours or via www.BTVsound.com. Also on this site is additional information on the NEM, Frequently Asked Questions, and contact information.

The consultant team will be available to answer questions and solicit public comments which will be included in the Study report. The City of Winooski is working closely with the Burlington International Airport and with VT Air National Guard to provide information regarding these meetings. A series of Frequently Asked Questions have been compiled in preparation for these meetings, available below:
