Vermont Youth Cycling (VTYC), in collaboration with Slate Valley Trails (SVT), is hosting a youth mountain bike event on Sunday, May 19 at SVT's Fairgrounds Trails. Rides for various ability and fitness levels will start at 10am and finish between 12 and 1pm. Skill sessions, games (on and off bike), a trail building/stewardship workshop, and snacking will round out the day until approximately 3pm. The event is open to young people in grades 5-12, but experienced/enthusiastic riders of younger ages are welcome with an accompanying adult on a mountain bike.

Admission is free for Slate Valley local youth and VTYC members, otherwise the event cost is $10. Preregistration at bikereg.com (https://www.bikereg.com/vtyc-group-ride-1-slate-valley-trails) is encouraged. The event will be capped at 75 participants. 25 spaces for same-day registration will be kept available. The Fairgrounds Trailhead is located at 125 Town Farm Road, Poultney.
