The 59th Annual Kid's Fishing Derby will commence at 9 AM on May 18, 2019.
This event is free and open to the public. Be sure to bring your own bait and tackle - no lures please.

The rules are simple:
Anglers age 12 and under are divided into three age groups:
•5 and under
•6 to 8
•9 to 12.
Anglers are given two hours to fish. A hot dog lunch is provided for the children. Parents are welcome to leftovers.
All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The rules for anglers are simple:
•Worms or other bait only – no lures
•One rod/line per angler
•Limit is three fish
•All fish caught must be kept and entered – no releasing fish!
The expectations for parents are simple:
•Tie knots
•Bait hooks
•Untie knots
•Exemplify superior sportsmanship
All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Fish can be checked in as soon as they are caught.
The lengths of all fish caught are recorded.
The top three anglers in each age group are awarded prizes based on the total length of fish caught.
Overall, there are prizes for the first fish checked in, the largest fish, and the smallest fish of the derby.
No angler can win more than one award per fishing derby.
