Come write luminous poetry near the river!

Come to the River of Your Imagination: A Poetry Experience
Poet Paul Celan spoke of poetry as being a message in a bottle, "sent out in the belief
that it could wash up on land, heartland perhaps." What might a poem have to say to you,
if it washes up on your shore? Find out in this workshop of evocative poetry by writers
such as Denise Levertov, Mary Oliver, and Michael Blumenthal. You'll be guided into
a deeper experience of their words to find the images that open your imagination.
Prompts will include river stones, rich words, and music. No experience needed.

He hears the voice and the mandolin,
he sees the thrush and the dandelion,
and he feels the mist rise over the river.
And his life is never the same,
for this having been lost -
for having strayed from the path of his routine,
for no good reason.
(From A Man Lost by a River, by Michael Blumenthal)
