Spring Migration Bird Walk at Hogback

Past event
May 19, 2019, 7:30 to 10:30 AM

Join naturalist Cherrie Corey for a morning walk to meet the arriving songbird wave and other harbingers of spring. Learn to notice where different species prefer to perch and sing in the landscape. Our route will take us through several distinct and varied habitats, each with its own signature community of songbirds and plant life - up the Tower Trail to Mt. Olga's summit, then down the Bishop Trail to Grant Rd., returning up along the VAST trail to the Route 9 parking area. This is about a two mile loop, with 500 feet of elevation change, but we'll be moving at a leisurely pace with plenty of stops. Meet in the field behind the white Distillery building on the south side of Route 9, just west of the gift shop. Questions? Email us at hmca@hogbackvt.org.

About the hike leader: Cherrie recently returned to Marlboro from Concord, MA where she's been an active naturalist, photographer, and conservation steward for many decades. She currently serves on the steering committee of the Green River Watershed Alliance and is an active member of the Southeast Vermont Audubon Society.
