Meet Ups with North District City Councilor at Bagel Cafe

Past event
May 11, 2019

Hello all. I wanted to remind you that I will be at the Bagel Cafe from 8 to 10 a.m. this Saturday, as well as every Saturday before any City Council meetings. I am happy to hear your thoughts and provide updates on the issues that we are working on at City Hall. For the most up-to-date information on my City Council work, check out my Facebook and Twitter pages (see below).

Our agenda this week is not heavy and includes the Burlington Police Department's update on their use of force policy and training. To date, among other measures, we have:

-Increased funding for our Water Resources Dept., creating new positions to help avoid further spillages, overage charges, and provide better customer service;
-Received new information regarding CityPlace and acceptance of the project loan term sheet for the CityPlace project (project is pending const. bids. acceptance; new 5/13 update will include checklist of items before construction commences);
-Received progress on the North Ave. safety measures: crosswalks being constructed and LED lighting updated to code (from Ethan Allen to Woodbury; happy to take more input on other measures to DPW);
-Started work on a resolution to provide a rental service for 200 e-bikes and 100 scooters (at no cost to the City, upcoming TEUC meeting will finalize resolution before going to full council in June, advocating that scooters be limited to downtown); and
-Receiving constituent input for the upcoming Burlington housing summit to address our housing shortage (more info. at https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/mayor/burlingtonhousingsummit2019).

I am happy to take on new projects or ideas on your behalf. We have an NPA meeting coming up on 5/22 and I hope to see many new faces at the new community dinner roll out done by a great group of dedicated neighbors. Feel free to reach out by email or at 802-448-2293; or Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/franklin.paulino.944; or Twitter: @FranklinPBTV.
