Va-et-Vient ("Come and Go") sings Quebecois Songs on this Friday May 10. Please join us for live music in our perfect acoustic setting - the Tinmouth Old Firehouse.
Some of the Crew really like French Canadian folk songs, but we've never had a group that sang them at the Firehouse. On Friday May 10 Va-et-Vient, three women from up around Middlebury, will rattle the hall with songs from our neighbors up north, as well as Cajun and French music. These musiciennes will take you from 16th century France to New Orleans and Québec with lively dance numbers, touching love songs, kickin' Cajun tunes, and rollicking Québecois favorites. With backgrounds rich in French cultures and language, through lifelong experiences living and traveling in French-speaking lands, they create beautiful harmonies, teaching and engaging audiences. YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW FRENCH! The songs delight in any language.
Concert begins at 7:30 PM. Doors open at 7 PM. No-charge raffle at intermission for free tickets for future concerts. The Old Firehouse is at 7 Mountain View Road in downtown Tinmouth, just a couple of hundred feet south of the intersection with Vermont 140. Suggested donation of $10 to $15; 90% to the musicians; 10% to the Town for maintenance of the Old Firehouse. Local groups provide refreshments. Your donations support their activities.
P.S. the Tinmouth Snack Bar is now open for the season just North of the Old Firehouse on route 140.
