Coffee and Conversation with George Lakey

Past event
May 10, 2019, 9 to 10:30 AM

You are cordially invited to an informal discussion with George Lakey, a prominent peace and environmental author and activist. It will be held at the Weybridge Congregational Church from 9:00 to 10:30 am on Friday, May 10. Refreshments will be served.

A sociologist recently retired from Swarthmore College, George Lakey is a prolific author and has been active in direct action campaigns for social change over six decades. His 2016 book, "Viking Economics," tells how the Nordic countries transformed their economies to a model of social and economic equality. The premise of the book is that we can achieve that goal here in the United States. His most recent book, "How We Win: A Guide to Nonviolent Direct Action Campaigning," will be on sale at this event. George Lakey has been an inspiration to a group currently developing a "Vision for Vermont."
