OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Summon, Spring! is a grassroots call to action that aims to activate communities to contact legislators via letters of poetry, creative writing, visual art, photo, music and other artistic mediums. For this event we are targeting Governor Phil Scott with letters illustrating the reasons why the Senate bill S.37 should be passed because he opposes this bill.
S.37 proposes to hold any person who releases a toxic substance strictly, jointly, and severally liable for any harm resulting from the release. The bill also proposes to establish a
private right of action for medical monitoring damages incurred due to
exposure to a toxic substance.
We invite you to join the Bennington College community outside the dining hall from 11:30-6:30 on Sunday, May 5th to make a letter of action with us — to let the Governor know why this issues matters to you and the community. Letters, stamps, and art materials will be provided. All letters sent should contain the words "Summon, Spring!" on the back.
