Author Charles Schudson discusses his new book, Independence Corrupted: How America's Judges Make Their Decisions, Monday, May 6th at 7pm in the Main Reading Room of Brooks Memorial Library 224 Main St., Brattleboro. With scholarship and impassioned accounts of compelling cases, he brings readers behind the trial bench to see judges analyzing actual trials and sentencing. Judge Schudson exposes the personal, professional, and political pressures now threatening judicial integrity like never before. Independence Corrupted is essential for all citizens concerned about the survival of judicial independence. Charles Benjamin Schudson is a Wisconsin Reserve Judge Emeritus and has been a featured guest on NPR, PBS, and Oprah.
